    .........
well.. I rarely write in this anymore, I still love to read about everyone else's lives, but tonight I need it.

I think everything has been piling up lately and today was just the last straw... I guess.
It starts with having talked to a bunch of people from tour lately. Ever since I've had this yearning to just quit school and go back. Also my classes are pure shit this semester which makes me care even less. I basically hate all gen-eds. Anyway, I REALLY want to go back to tour but then I talked to Nicole (Bert) and she's enjoying living out in New York and I really want to move there but I just don't think I'm ready, training-wise.
Then, the worst of it just hit me today. I had the worst thought I think I've ever had and this is the first time. Today I thought "I don't want to do this. I don't want this as my career."....

I don't think I've ever been depressed before cause I can honestly say I've never felt like... THIS.

Me?... In ASIA?? Who'd a thunk...
Well, it was quite a fun couple days at home in the Roch. Wish I would've had just a little more time to see everyone before I left but, now I'm here. In freaking South Korea. Where almost no one speaks english and ordering food is next to impossible because the menus have no pictures, it's like ordering off a sushi menu where you just put a number next to which ones you want, but you can't read what the items are because they're in korean.

    but enough of that.
    The flight here:
We left San Francisco around 2:15pm friday and ended up getting to South Korea about 6:45pm Sat. A HELL of a time change. The good thing was that the flight has a whole computer system set up in the backs of the seats so you can watch movies, tv, play games, etc. Without that I just might've died. The food was not bad either and we got served drinks like all the time.

    First Day:
Since we only had saturday night and no one could figure out how to get any food, the "promoter" took a couple of us to a traditional korean restaurant and ordered some pork ribs for us. Well, that meal was QUITE interesting because he had to leave to go talk to our boss and left us to eat with the woman whose only english was "ok" and "thank you". Luckily he asked them to help us out so they cooked it for us and such. The whole experience was neat because they brought out ALL these dishes and then open a little burner in the table to cook the meat. You can then add sauces, garlic, etc to it. And then there was Kimchi. This stuff is SOOOOOO nasty I can't believe people eat it. Basically it's fermented cabbage covered in a chili sauce. GROSS. They say that there are like 1500 different kinds of Kimchi but I an't trying every one. No WAY.

    Second day:
The second day was a little better. We took a long walk around our part of the city and saw Baskin Robbins, Starbucks, some other american things but no Micky D's or Burger King. So as we were walking abck to the hotel we decided to go eat. We were walking for a long time trying to find places that were open and none were. Then we figure out that's because it's Sunday. NOTHING is open on sunday.... NOTHING. Except the bars at night lol. So the boys and I went out the bars that night. Partied a lot, made some new friends like some finnish dancers, a korean resident actually from Holland, a US forign analyst, and a korean bar owner Paul ("I WIN" and "You Slowly") and to sum it up short. We ended up getting home at 5:30 the next morning...

    Third day:
    Sleep-21 hours.

Now were at the fourth day and it's about time for breakfast at the hotel. See everyone when I get back. Miss you all!!!

    We're going to Broadway!!!!!
    Just kidding!!!
Actually, we're going to Asia!! It's official.
On May 25th I will be on a freakin 15 hour plane ride to Seoul, South Korea. Stay there for 2 weeks then move on to Singapore. Stay there for 10 days then on to Bangkok, Thailand followed by Manilla, Philippenes for 2 weeks. That should end us about July 22 when I will FINALLY be free from my contract and able to come home and finish school.

I can't believe it's been so long already...8 months.. and 4 to go. Just 4 and I will be free, not that I don't enjoy what I do but.... it's been a FREAKING LONG TIME!!! Most tours are only 9 months, which is easily doable. It's just the extra 3 months that are gonna kill me.

Missing everyone back home. Finally starting to get a little homesick. Thank god we play a city near my house so I can go home. I'll be able to see everyone in just 2 and a half weeks... YAY!!!!

Well.. it's late and we have blocking tomorrow morning. I'm off to bed. Night all. Love ya!

........ I hate it when two of my friends meet and then start dating are are like "In Love"....

    OH PUHLEEEEEEZ!!!!!

It's worse when I just happen to like on of them....

    anyway..... back to the reviews...

    Drowsy Chaparone:
SOOOOOO FUCKING FUNNY!!!!!! Funniest thing I've seen in a LONG time..... I ABSOLUTLY LOVED IT!!!!

    Grey Gardens:
Hated this horrible piece of shitty trash being called a brilliant show. THe performances were the ONLY things that kept me from leaving at intermission.
THe Book,Score, and Lyrics were just AWFUL!!!!! Absolutly NO plot, basically just a story of soome people who were crazy. I didn't feel for ANY of the characters and the minor characters were either given not enough to work with.... OR too much that was either under developed or NEVER developed.... Blech... I might give it a second chance though... It did suck though... LOL

    Beauty and the Beast:
Along the same lines as Grey Gardens.... This show was COMPLETELY over acted until the scene with Belle and Beast right after "Something There". Everything before that was cheesy and over acted.

Lefou sucked my left nut soooooo hard... I just wanted to punch him for real!!!!!!!
He was literally beggin the audience for laughs... and when he got hit he would often recoil the wrong way.. LOL
Ok... I think the real problem I had with this show was the director..... I just don't think he was very good and I think he tried to hard to get laughs. Beast had some really bad moments that I don't think would happen with his character.

Anyway... off to bed... I have a show tomorrow... 11 am.. UGH!!!

    Reviews part 1
Well... Yesterday I saw both The Apple Tree and Chicago. So... here are my reviews.. LOL

    Apple Tree:
This show is absofuckinglutly AMAZING!!!! Cheno, Brian Darcy James, and Marc Kudisch were all FANTASTIC!!!!! I loved every minute of it. I only knew about the first part of the show, it's in 3, so the 2nd and 3rd parts were a surprise... and I good one. They were HYSTERICAL!!! This show just reminds me why I love Bock and Harnick. Everything is soooo fun, the music is really good, each story is well developed, etc.
    Now, on to the performances...

    Cheno:
I LOVE her... but..... In this show she had a tendancy to make some funny faces while she was singing. Not to mention there was a REAL clear distinction between her head voice and chest voice which I think is unusual for her and her head voice really didn't fit any of her characters cause it is SOOO operatic. But... She was AMAZING none-the-less.

    Brian Darcy James:
FUNNY!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOO FUNNY!! Great actor, great vocals. Could've been a little more forward in his placement but still... Great vocals!!!!

    Marc Kudisch:
OOOOOZING sex... Simply OOOOOOOOOZING. His snake was SOOOOOO good. His movements were so fluid and just OOOOOZING sex. The 2nd and 3rd parts had him playing Narrator parts but he was stilll SUPER excellent.

    Chicago:
This was the show I was SUPER excited to see but... it kinda let me down.
Bebe was REALLY good as Roxie.... surprisingly. I was a little unsure but it all turned out alright. The only thing that distracted me with her performance was that her vibratto was a little wobbly which was only because of her age. Other than that she was Super cute!!

    Velma/Brenda Braxton:
SOOOOOOOOO good. She was a great dancer, she was beautiful. She pretty much owned the show!!!!

Mama morton and Billy Flynn..... sucked.
I hate to say it but they were just NOT good... Mama was flat for all of her songs, including Class which killed it for me cause it's a duet. The thing was that her straight tone was under pitch and then she would turn on the vibratto which brought it back up but.... Those straight tones killed her.
Billy... just was not good. He couldn't sing the role which is interesting because that's not really a difficult role to sing...By FAR!!!

The chorus was AWESOME!!!! They all had bodies to DIE for and were fantastic dancers.

    In other news...
We opened the show today. The stage is sooooo tiny that we can barely fit the muppets on stage... resulting in a pretty shitty show.. LOL. Oh well... It'll get fixed.. Hopefully.

Stay tuned for next week's installment featuring a review of Drowsy Chaparone/Grey Gardens and Jersey Boys.

Had a voice coaching today.... It was AMAZING. Andrew Byrne is a GREAT coach!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, especially all my friends back home. I went in with a little problem that he immediately found the answer to and even a little more.
I found that my big problem was my tongue. Of course... isn't it everyone's???
Anyway.. what I was doing was pulling my tongue back which actually closed off more of my throat. In the long run I found that I really don't use head voice... Which is a PROBLEM... lol
At least now i've gotten it figured out. Now it's off to practice.. lol.

    How the time Flies
Well... New York City is coming up fast and I'm a little nervous. Monday's the travel day and then we're in the city for 2 weeks!!!! I'm soooooo excited.

In other news, my best performance as Professor Art was today... Partly because I didn't have to sing, they tracked me, but mostly because I didn't have to worry about the singing and I could just have fun and really get into the character; which I think I did VERY well!!!
Actually, I LOVE being Art now... lol
The only thing that's a little frustrating... ok not a little, a LOT!! Is that I was SUPPOSED to sing live but during my sound check Jerry, our Performance Director, decided that I should be tracked but do the dialogue live... The reason I'm really frustrated is because I've working SOOOOO hard to fix my voice but nothing's working and there is absolutly NO "rehearsal" time or space. I've taped myself but the only time I can practice is while in the hotel where we can't be too loud because the walls are paper thin. They even sent us to a vocal coach, to whom I TOLD I had a problem, and unfortunately it was a joint lesson with the other Art so nothing got fixed...

Basically, I just need to go back to school and take lessons full time... I've for sure gotten better, I can tell and so can other people but... it's just not good enough yet.
Or... maybe I just can't be good at everything, cause my flexibility has gotten much better and working with such great dancers has really improved my technique too!! Which is AWESOME!!!!!

Anyway, I'm done bitching... I'm also gonna try to update more as I get to each city.
Hope everyone back home is having fun!!! See you in the fall!!

    Amazing night
So... On saturday we had 2 shows in the tiny town of Lakeland, Florida, where everything closes at 6 pm. Blah!! Anyway, we had gone to the shuttle launch on Thursday when it didn't happen and we all decided that we should definitly come back on Saturday to see if it goes off...
Well, it did. and it was AMAZING!!!!

So. it's like 6 pm and the chances of it going off were 30%, not that great but we decided to go anyway. Well, we get there and sit around for about an hour and then they upgraded the chance to 70%. So, come 8:45, it's looking like a go and we are all super excited for the occuring countdown when all of a sudden the hill across the lake from where we were starts to glow. From that glow comes the shuttle and immediately the sky is filled with an orange light, making it look like daytime out. Eventually the glow fades away and the boosters are dropped, leaving the shuttle looking like a really bright star traveling through the atmosphere... It was sooo beautiful. I highly recommend going down to see a shuttle launch at LEAST once in your life. Most of the girls with us started crying, it was a really cool experience.

Speaking of cool experiences, tour is almost halfway over.... I can't believe I've been on the road for almost 6 months... That's amazing... It's been a great experience and everything but... I'm ready for the Christmas break and seeing all my friends and family.. YAY!!! One week from today.. pretty much.

So.. first thing on my list is to visit Lancey Pants in St. Louis. If you're reading this I just want to make sure it's cool if I hang out with you Monday... We'll be getting in around 5:30/6ish and then we can go out to the bar. My flight the next morning is around 6ish so.. I figure that's early enough so you can get to work on time. I'll give you a call tomorrow to make sure you get this.. LOL

Then tuesday morning, Dec 19th is my flight home, followed by the Holiday party. Woo Hoo!!!!!

What the hell is my problem???
Ok. so... last night I officially got the drunkest I have ever been in my ENTIRE life.... and it was not pretty.
Not only did I stumble around the club at ONLY 1 am but I also:
    1. Threw up in the actual club, that's a no-no on my list
    2. Wandered outside where I found a palm tree and slumped down next to it
    3. Asked people for help.... I think to the hospital, I don't remember.
    4. Gave my phone to 2 random people, one who tried to call some random number, the other who actually talked to my friends
    5. Passed out next to the tree and was eventually picked up and put in the car with 2 cups to puke in
    6. Came home, threw up some more, tried to eat fruit loops, then somehow got in the bathtub and passed out until 8 in the morning.... UGH

All in all... worst night of my ENTIRE life. It was just yucky!!!!

    Back in the states
Well.... the international part of tour concluded with the Bahamas, which were gorgeous. I took a bunch of pictures of the ocean and resort from our balcony. Anyway, we're back in the states, Miami Florida to be exact, and there are only 2 and a half weeks left of tour until Christmas Break... THANK GOD!!! Not that I don't like it, I just need a break, and I miss everyone at home.

So, for the next couple weeks, this is my schedule:
    Miami, Flordia until Sunday
    Lakeland, Florida- Sunday til wed/thurs
    Melbourne, Florida- Thurs-Mon
    Savannah, Georgia- Mon-wed/thurs
    Fort Smith, Arkansas-Thurs-Mon
St. Louis, Missouri-Monday to visit Lancey Pants!!! and then......

    Tour....
This place is boring.... LA LA lA... lol

but seriously, It's given me a lot of time to think about random shit and so forth.
After being on tour for about 80 days... I've come to some conclusions, both good and bad unfortunatly. So here goes...
    1. Most importantly, I love tour!!! There are soooo many good things about it, getting paid, making new friends, seeing exciting places... but there's only so much time I can spend away from my core group of friends. Which leads me to...

    2. the fact that I've overlooked some people in my life is fairly easy to figure out when you have nothing to do ALL DAY LONG.
*Sidebar*- You'll know who you are...
K- I'm sorry.... I had ABSOLUTLY no idea that you felt that bad. I was duped by a douchebag, or as I like to put it, a Sperm-burping roadwhore... LOL. But seriously. I had no intention of making you feel bad and I was stupid.
G- Well... I guess I screwed it up again... There just never is a right time... is there??? Ah well.... We have fun. Break a leg, I know you'll do amazingly...
B- Where should I start... Another one that I've screwed up... Hopefully, one day we'll be in the same place at the same time and in the right frame of mind... oh.. and both single.. lol. I hope you'll have a good life wherever your new job will take you.

    3. I'm ready to move... New York, Chicago, LA. I'm not sure where yet but... I'm definitly ready. Here's all I have to finish.
    Summer 07- Broadway Theatre Project
Fall 07- Finish My FREAKING degree.... I only have 2 classes left... Repeat 2!!!
Winter 08- Move. Hopefully I'll have enough but if not, then winter 08 becomes
Alternate Winter 08- Go backon tour and save money...
Summer 08- MOVE!!!!! To where.. I have no idea...

    wow.... this blows!!!
So.. we just left San Juan, Puerto Rico... Beautiful place and have arrived by bus into Ponce, where we are staying at the shittiest hotel I've ever stayed at in my LIFE...
Not to mention there is ABSOULUTLY nothing to do here unless you spend money which is exactly what I don't want to do.... AND there is NOTHING around the hotel. At least.. in walking distance there is nothing and it's not like we have a car or anything...

Plus.. this week SUCKS work wise... we don't open til friday and we definitly won't be getting extra pay...

    End of Columbia
Well.... COlumbia is officially over. We had our last show today at 3. We were supposed to have another one but it was cancelled due to bad ticket sales. Anyway, now we head to Dominican Republic for a bunch of shows there, but first we're in Miami for a dark week.

.... One of our dancers was fired today. He is the spanish Professor Art and English Bert. Now I have to do a WHOLE bunch of shows lipsyncing spanish because our other professor Art is Spanish Bert and he hasn't really been practicing because I was supposed to be the "Swing". Well... now I'm full time and I've never done the spanish track yet... better get good at it now!!!.....

I've been listening to my crying songs mix. There is this gorgeous song called "Part of Us" from Once on this Island and it TOTALLY fits the situation.

But for now.... I have to pack. We leave at 5 in the morning.

    Ugh..
Tomorrow morning we leave for Bogota, Columbia.

    Costa Rica part deux
Costa Rica is amazing... as usual.
This week we had off because we were supposed to go to Panama but it got cancelled... Don´t know why. So, instead we are camping out in Costa Rica for a week then going straight to Columbia.

Because of this little change I´ve had the pleasure of seeing the waterfalls, a volcano, going white water rafting, jumping off a bridge (into the water) and going on a zip line canopy tour. All of which were extremely exciting.

Today a bunch of people went bungee jumping but I´m tired from taking classes at the gym and hiking up stairs. Blech.

    ...My abs hurt.

Hope Batboy is going well. I´m sad Í´m gonna miss it.
    SOMEBODY better be taping it...

Anyway, can´t wait to see everyone when I get home for Christmas. We´ll have to party it up for a week straight.

    Wow...
This past week has been CRAZY. We started off by leaving Sunday night 1 hr earlier than had been expected so... stupid me who plans to get back to the hotel where the bus is at 1 hr is late because the bus was early and everyone was loading it....
Then we take a 7 hr bus ride or something to Ellenton, FLordia. Which is right next to Sarasota, FLorida. Yuck.
Ellenton is not too bad. THere are restaurants around and the hotel is a nice Hampton. Then, My friend Leanna drags me to Ruby Tuesdays that first night cause she's hungry so we go and sit at the bar and meet this really cool bartender who can show us around town and whom we end up hanging out with the whole time we're there.
Shows in Sarasota were good. We only had 3 and the audiences were crazy. Sometimes we walk into the audience and the kids the first night SWARMED the characters and we're all like "Help!!! These kids are crazy!!" So crazy, in fact, that they took away the stair units to allow us to go into the audience.
Yesterday... Thursday, we left for Orlando at 12 and took about a 3 hr bus ride so that we could get on a plane and go the opposite direction to Jackson, Ms. Were we got on another bus and drove to hick vicksburg. and by Hick I mean HICK. It's alright though. THe motel is cool and I kinda like it here. Not that I'd want to live here by ANY means.
So. today we have blocking rehearsal, tomorrow 2 shows and sunday 2 shows then we leave Monday for Guyana in South America. It oughta be interesting...

    Opening Weekend
Well, it came and went. We opened in fayetteville and had a very successful opening, including an opening night party (pictures on facebook).
Friday was opening. We had one show that night and everything was going great. Afterwards we went to the opening night party held by the head honcho Vince Edward Egan and all of the senior partners were there too. It was a good time but I was tired and sick and needed to go home to sleep.
Saturday was a 3 show day that all of us newbies thought was gonna kill us. It actually didn't turn out to bad. By the third show I was actually feeling better than the first. That night we were done by 7 so I took a little nap, had dinner, and then went out to the ghetto club with some of the cast. Blech. Fayetteville is sooooo ghetto!!.. SO ghetto that as we were walking out of the hotel a guy, definitly older than 20 pulled out in a trashy truck with a hick accent and threw a water balloon. Who the fuck throws water balloons. Scratch that... WHat 20 YEAR OLD throws water balloons at people they DON'T KNOW!!!! WTF!!!!

Today was the last 2 shows and now I'm exhausted but I still have to pack cause we fly tomorrow to Panama City, Florida. and we leave at 5:15 in the morning. WTF!!!
I'll put pictures up of Fayetteville soon, though no one really wants to see that.
    Sunday, July 23rd, 2006
    2:00 pm
    First stop..
So.. Production is over. 2 weeks well spent on learning the show and rehearsing ending with an invited dress on friday morning which went REALLY well. Then we went to a publicity seminar were they showed us some tv clips and taught us about doing pubs for VEEcorp. It was all fine and dandy then I actually got one, which I didn't think I would. So, before one of the shows I have to do a meet and greet as Baby Bear which will be very interesting, but hopefully fun.

After all that we left for Fayetteville, NC.

This place is kinda a dump. The hotel kinda sucks and there is like nothing but fast food near us, as in no stores or anything. However, one of the cast members has a tour guide book in which we found some clubs and went. The first one we went to was Spektrum and it was ghetto and shady so we left for the other one, Alias, which ended up being awesome.
North Carolina is kinda weird because they make you be a registered member to go to clubs well, we decided to join and go in and they were having a strip show, exciting. So, I followed everyone around and they were passing out suckers with numbers on them for a raffle for a lap dance. So, some guy hands us a sucker and we're sitting at the bar part when it comes time for the raffle. Well, they call out a number for this one guy Paul, who was really skinny and fit, and almos everyone in the club thought he was hot, and no one has it. So, they call a second number, still no one has it. Finally the guy is like, "This is dumb, ok. Last number." and he call 27... which just happend to be my number. I was kinda in shock...
Anyway lap dance from Paul was awesome...

the rest of this week is rehearsals which kinda blows but then we have a show friday, 3 saturday (one of which I am playing Professor Art for) and 2 on sunday then we leave Monday for Sarasota... Should be interesting.

The rest of the schedule is as follows
    Panama City, Fl
    Sarasota, Fl
    Vicksburg, MS
    ?????????

Overall.... I'm having a great time.

    Current Mood: sleepy
